Governors
Barley Hill Primary School, in common with all maintained schools, is governed by a group of independent people appointed for a fixed term of office, usually four years. The Board comprises of a number of representatives, including elected parent governors, the local authority and the community. The Governing Body focuses on the long-term development and improvement of the school in continuing to ensure that the high standards of learning, achievement and behaviour we have at Barley Hill are maintained and developed. Meetings relating to; school finances, the curriculum, the school grounds, staffing and childcare are held with the common purpose of ensuring that the children at Barley Hill Primary School receive the best possible education and make excellent progress!
By working closely with school staff, the Governors play an important role in ensuring that firm foundations are laid for your child's education and that your child has a happy, secure and successful time whilst at primary school.
A message from our Chair of Governors
Dear Parents and Carers
On behalf of the Governing Body I would like to offer you a warm welcome to Barley Hill School.
I am privileged to be both a Governor and although I am biased, I believe it to be the best primary school in the area!
This is down to the excellent staff led by Gemma Penny who is committed to raising standards for all and strives to ensure that children fulfil their potential in a safe, caring and fun atmosphere. We are also extremely fortunate to have an enthusiastic PTFA and supportive parents who are all part of our Barley Hill community.
Our Governing Body has vacancies from time to time. Should you wish to receive any further information about joining the Governing Body please don’t hesitate to contact us.
For details of who’s who on the governing body please go to the link below or take a look at our notice board in Reception. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or any of the Governors via the school office. Or you can email using; wwgovernor@barley-hill.oxon.sch.uk
