Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
EHCPs are for pupils who need more support than what is available through SEN Support. It is a legal document that sets out the special educational needs of a child or young person with SEND and the provisions that should be put in place. The local authority is responsible for ensuring those provisions are carried out. Most children or young people with SEND will not need an EHC plan

The following flow chart have been developed by Special Needs Jungle to explain in detail the process of requesting an EHCP and the EHCP process once an application has been submitted.
If you have any questions around whether an EHCP would be appropriate for your child, please contact the SENDCo to discuss this further.
EHCPs at Barley Hill
At Barley Hill, pupils with EHCPs are supported by their respective year group team, consisting of teachers and teaching assistants. This team collaborates to develop a timetable that ensures children with EHCPs receive the required support outlined in their plans, while also fostering a network of trusted adults to support the children.
As is our statutory duty, all EHCPs are reviewed each year through an Annual Review, where the SENDCo, class teacher and all professionals working with the child are invited to work collaboratively to review and amend and the child's EHCP.
If you have any questions about your child's EHCP, please contact the SENDCo to discuss this further.
